ROLEX Pearlmaster

Released in 1992 and discontinues 30 years later , Rolex created the Pearlmaster as the ladies watch that offered the extravagance and presence of a stunning piece of jewellery but also the functionality and reputation of a beautifully crafted, luxury Swiss watch.
All watches in the Pearlmaster range were exclusively made from Yellow, white or rose gold only and always stone set. The gemstones that were used to adorn the Pearlmaster watches were diamonds, rubies or sapphires with many colours of sapphires used to create rainbow designs and eye-catching colour combinations.
The Pearlmaster offered the stone set glamour and a design that set it apart from other Rolex watches but also the functionality that is expected of a Rolex watch.

This luxurious addition to the Rolex empire came in 1992, having originally been introduced as a slightly larger and more glamorous alternative to the Lady Date-just, this timepiece strikes a delicate balance between a watch and a piece of fine jewellery. At this time, the Pearlmaster was a female focused range and its first releases were available in 29mm & 34mm options, though in 2015 a ‘gents’ 39mm selection was introduced and the smaller 29mm case was removed from the range, the fashion for ladies wearing a larger timepiece was also prevalent at this time. The 5 link bracelet on the Pearlmaster had a softer and more feminine feel with its rounded edges setting it apart from other more sporty feeling designs and maintaining Rolex’s vision for the ladies range.
The original Pearlmaster range were fitted with the calibre 2135 which was, later in the 1990’s, replaced by the new calibre 2235 but always offering the precision that Rolex is renowned for.
The Pearlmaster offers the 100m water resistance, cyclops lens over the date window, oyster case, Oyster perpetual movement with chronometer certification and screw down crown just like the Lady-datejust but unlike the Datejust, every Pearlmaster model are crafted from precious metals and adorned with diamond, sapphire or ruby in varying degrees. Some are stone set in a more subtle manner with just a few stones scattered on the smooth bezel others may be fully set with diamonds covering the bezel, lugs, dial and even bracelet.
The Pearlmaster was discontinued by Rolex in 2022 , this extravagant, statement timepiece is now a gem of the preowned market.
