Breitling released the Superocean at a time when some of the most notorious divers watches were presented to the market, with the release of the Rolex Submariner and the Omega Seamaster, both renowned diver watches that are also standing the test of time.
Released in 1957 the Breitling Superocean, a watch that was originally intended for military divers, piqued the interest of watch lovers and divers alike. The first models came in both 3-hand and chronograph versions - ref 807 manual wind chronograph and the 1004 Automatic 3 hand.
Since these first releases, there have been many changes to the Superocean collection with many colourways, case sizes and complications added to the range.
The Superocean hit its 60-year milestone in 2007 and celebrated the anniversary by releasing its Heritage Collection. The pieces in the range were reminiscent of the 1957 originals, with the logo, hands and bracelet all taking a step back in time.
The most current range of Superocean timepieces are available in multiple case sizes from 36mm-46mm with a variety of dial colours and bracelet options with vibrant orange and yellow options in both the lady's and gent's ranges. Water resistance is a key feature for this seafaring timepiece, with a minimum depth of 200m with the more advanced models giving the owner 1000m water resistance.
All of the current ranges are powered by the Breitling Calibre 17 automatic movement, which are all chronometer certified to give the wearer the utmost assurance of the watch's accuracy.
