BREITLING Heritage

The Superocean Heritage is a direct descendant of the very first generation of Breitling Superocean from the 1950’s.
The Heritage collection draws inspiration from those very first divers watches that were released at a time when the likes of the Rolex Submariner and Omega Seamaster were released into the divers watch universe.
Intended as a professional divers watch, the Submariner has evolved and had its design upgraded to improve its useability and therefore become a more complicated watch which still lends itself to professionals, however when the collection celebrated its 50th anniversary, Breitling released the Superocean Heritage as a love letter to the origins of the icon.
The Superocean Heritage has all of the key features of the very first models and maintains its simple, useable style with a vintage finish. It showcases its famously uncluttered dial, chunky markers for ease of use, and both three handed and chronograph versions.

The Breitling Superocean Heritage was introduced into the range to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Superocean collection which had been introduced by Breitling in 1957.
The Heritage has many of the defining features reminiscent of the original Superocean but with the luxury of the Swiss brand's technological advances.
The Heritage pieces all have familiar features the original Breitling logo, the bold markers, the arrow design hour hand, and the Milanese steel bracelet, which were all key features of the original Superocean.
An upgraded collection came in the form of the Superocean Heritage II, which was introduced in 2017 and marked the Superoceans’ 60th anniversary. The heritage II offered additional case size options, and dial colours but still maintained the vintage diver aesthetic. Within the range, you will find both three hand and chronograph variations as per the original offering from 1957.
The Superocean Heritage models offer the simplicity of an uncluttered dial, as originally intended, and maintain a minimum offering of 200m water resistance. The Heritage collection maintains its vintage, functional style, whilst the Superocean core collection offers a very able divers watch which is very much a tool watch, with helium release valves and higher water resistance.
Modern Superocean Heritage timepieces are all COSC certificated chronometers with the most up to date automatic movements as has become standard for all Breitling mechanical watches. Unlike the original Superocean range, there is now the addition of a lady’s range including the Pastel collection which consists of a 38mm case in a range of the most feminine of colour palettes, the range offers everything that is to be expected of a Superocean Heritage including the concave bezel that is reminiscent of the original Superocean models of the 1950’s.
The Superocean Heritage and Heritage II pieces are popular in the preowned market, this classic divers watch is loved by divers and watch fans alike. It is clear to see why Breitling reintroduced the Heritage style, the collection both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
