Glasgow, Scotland’s most populated city, sits on the River Clyde in the Western Lowlands. Scotland is well known worldwide for its love of whisky.                                                Glasgow used to be a hub of whisky production, sadly the last of the distilleries closed in the early 2000’s. However, more recently a number have reopened, bringing the tradition of malt whisky distilling back to the city.

Glasgow and the River Clyde are renowned for a history of shipbuilding.                    Since 1812, over 30,000 ships have built on the banks of the river Clyde.       Sadly, shipbuilding declined in Glasgow after World War II, but some Royal Navy ships are still being built at a sight in Govan in the southwest of the city.

 Glasgow is a home to a buzzing shopping scene and combined with its friendly residents, some say Glasgow beats Edinburgh for its unique shopping experience.                  Glasgows main shopping area offers a mix of familiar high street retailers and high-end boutiques for luxury purchases with the epitome of luxury, Rolex watches having two stockists in the city.
