New Tudor models for 2024
Tudor launched a handful of new models in 2024, with some striking additions to their already established collections.
Black Bay Chrono ‘Pink’
In March 2024 Tudor became the official timekeepers for football superstar and brand ambassador David Beckhams Inter Miami CF and, following the announcement of the new partnership, the Swiss brand unveiled the new 41mm Black Bay Chrono ‘pink’ ref M79360N-0019.
The Black Bay Chrono has been part of the Tudor range since 2017, but the new pink dial was a daring addition and by Tudors description ‘isn’t for the mainstream’ and therefore will only be produced in a small volume. The pink dial is punctuated by black inner dials and is framed by a black aluminium bezel, all of which are set onto a stainless steel case with a matt and polished finish 5 link bracelet which is reminiscent of the Rolex Jubilee bracelet. Away from the aesthetic, the new timepiece offers all the quality of a Black Bay, with the in-house self-winding movement MT5813 with 70 hour power reserve and 200m water resistance.
Black Bay Chrono ‘Blue’
The Black Bay Chrono ‘Blue’ shares many of its features with the Black Bay Chrono ‘Pink’, with its in-house movement, 41mm case, 5 link matt and polished steel case and bracelet, 200m water resistance and 70-hour power reserve. This new Chronograph reference M79360B-0002 is COSC certified giving the Black Bay Chrono ‘Blue’ official Chronometer certification. The watch is also fitted with the T-lock clasp to allow the wearer rapid adjustment.
The Black Bay Chrono ‘Blue’ has a real classic sports watch feel to its design, but this boutique exclusive is much more than that. The vibrant ‘Tudor blue’ dial and aluminium bezel insert stand out beautifully against the steel case, the silver inner dials are in perfect contrast to the blue of the dial and the small detail of the red arrow on the tip of the second hand all showcase Tudors attention to detail. It is in no doubt that this piece will garner huge attention, especially as it is only available from Tudor boutiques.
Black Bay
The Black Bay is Tudors most recognisable collection, its new update for 2024 is destined to be a hit with Tudor fans. The new model offers a 41mm steel case with a new slimmer depth of 13.6mm which is finished with a polished and brushed effect. The new release Black Bay comes in three references, M7941A1A0NU-0002 on a black rubber strap, M7941A1A0NU-0001 on a stainless steel 3 link ‘oyster style’ bracelet and M7941A1A0NU-0003 on a stainless steel 5 link bracelet. Each of the new models has a rich black dial with bright white hour markers and hands which are surrounded by a unidirectional Black bezel with silver markers, giving this Black Bay a distinctly modern monochrome look. All models in the new collection are powered by the MT5602-U with 70-hour power reserve.
The Tudor movement in this Black Bay has been treated to some upgrades to be eligible for METAS testing. The rigorous testing ensures that the movement is of the highest quality, performance and precision having been extensively tested under various conditions. The new Black Bay has been awarded Master Chronometer status.
Black Bay Ceramic ‘Blue’
The Black Bay Ceramic ‘Blue’ Master Chronometer watch was launched in 2024 to coincide with the announcement of Tudors official partnership with the newly branded, Visa Cash App RB Formula One race team. The Black Bay Ceramic ‘Blue’ is the official team watch. The Racing team, formerly known as Scuderia Alpha Tauri, display the striking blue as part of their racing colours as well as in their branding, so what better way to pay homage to this new partnership than showcasing the team colours as part of this stunning new timepiece. The new model has been showcased on the wrists of team drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda.
As the name suggests, the Black Bay Ceramic ‘Blue’ steps away from the many steel cased variations of Black Bays that have come before. This new addition to the collection has a 41mm black ceramic case with an open case back to showcase the stunning movement which continues the all black theme, having been crafted from steel with a black PVD coating and enclosed using a sapphire crystal clear case. The unidirectional bezel is crafted from PVD stainless steel with a satin finished black ceramic inlay. The models Calibre MT5602-1U movement has been subjected to METAS rigorous testing to achieve Master Chronometer certification.
The vivid blue dial on the Black Bay Ceramic ‘Blue’ adds to the selection of ‘Tudor blue’ pieces that have been launched in 2024. ‘Tudor blue’ encompasses many blues across the range instead of referring to a specific shade of blue and on this model the tone is specifically matched to the race and brand attire of the racing team. The blue dial is the perfect back drop to the bright white markers and hands. This colour combination against with the black ceramic makes for an incredibly eye-catching statement watch.
This particular Black Bay comes with two straps, one that is a mix of leather and rubber with blue stitching to match the dial and the second strap is a black fabric strap with a fine blue stripe running vertically.
Black Bay 58 GMT
The Black Bay 58 is named after the year that Tudor introduced the first 200m waterproof divers’ watch. All models within the range still maintain some of the original features and pay tribute to the brands history.
The Black Bay 58 GMT reference M7939G1A0NRU-0001 with stainless steel bracelet and M7939G1A0NRU-0002 with a black rubber strap, are the first GMT models to be introduced to the ‘58’ collection and have been COSC certified and further tested to be granted METAS Master Chronometer certification. This certification guarantees the utmost precision, performance and accuracy following rigorous testing.
True to its origins in 1958, the 39mm case size that runs through all Black Bay 58 models is still chosen to hold the in-house movement with GMT complication. This case size is sure to sit comfortably on most wrist sizes, all other GMT models in the Tudor catalogue have the larger, 41mm case size.
The 58 GMT has the classic black domed dial with white ‘dot’ hour markers, date at 3 o’clock, ‘snowflake’ hour hand and all surrounded by a bi-directional black and burgundy bezel with GMT timescale. All this is punctuated with gilt detailing to give that classic feel. The slender GMT hand also bears the square shaped, so called ‘snowflake’ detail.
This new GMT addition to the Black Bay 58 range takes us back to a time when Tudor and the wider watch industry were creating timepieces for a new era of worldwide travel. The brand has made it clear that inspiration was drawn from the Tudors history when creating this GMT model.
Black Bay 58 18K
The Black Bay 58 18K reference M79018V-0006 is a significant addition to the brands catalogue, this model is the very first Tudor divers watch to be crafted from solid 18ct yellow gold.
This breathtaking wristwatch exudes luxury with its soft yellow hues of satin finished 18ct gold case and bracelet, beautiful earthy golden green dial and bezel, and clear case back. The instantly recognisable Black Bay features are plain to see, the ‘snowflake’ hands and markers are all 18ct yellow gold with Super-LumiNova to ensure visibility in any circumstance.
This all 18ct yellow gold model joins its predecessor, originally released in 2021 ref. M79018V-0001 which until 2024 has been the Black Bay 58’s only 18ct yellow gold model and was only available with leather and fabric strap options.
This magnificent watch is powered by the Tudor manufacture calibre MT5400 which has been given Chronometer certification by COSC and this movement affords the wearer a 70-hour power reserve.
All new Black Bay models are a representation of Tudors ability to produce sports watches of outstanding quality, that are as aesthetically pleasing as they are functional. The consistent and defining features of the Black Bay range are carried throughout all new pieces, from the domed dial, sapphire crystal glass and ‘snowflake’ hands. All new metal bracelet options now being fitted with the Tudor ‘T-Fit’ rapid adjustment clasp.
Pelagos FXD Chrono ‘Cycling Edition’
The Pelagos FXD collection was first introduced by the brand in 2021 and was created with Tudors links to the French Navy imbedded in its purpose and design. The collection was created to meet the requirements of their underwater combat unit and this collection is a sign of the brands desire to build on its reputation for creating high performance tool watches.
The FXD in the collection name stands for ‘fixed bars’ referring to the fixed strap bars of the watch case, this new design feature has been included by the brand to ensure a more robust and secure wear.
The Pelagos FXD Chrono ‘Cycling Edition’ has been designed for the Tudor pro cycling team. Developed specifically to be lightweight, durable and as high performance as those that wear it.
The watch strap is a sturdy woven one piece fabric strap and threads through the fixed bars of the watch case. This case of the new Pelagos is made using the brands Carbon composite and finished with a stunning matte finish. This lightweight material ensures that the watch does not impede the cyclist’s comfort.
The Carbon composite, just like the carbon fibre bikes favoured by the pro racers, is light weight yet durable, other elements of the watch case have been crafted using Titanium to continue the quest for a light yet extremely durable timepiece.
Every feature of the Tudor Pelagos FXD ‘Cycling Edition’ has been carefully considered to produce a function tool watch that can be easily used by the wearer whilst competing. The bezel is detailed with a Tachymeter that is specifically designed for use whilst cycling to measure speed or flow rate.
This cycling specific tool watch is powered by the Tudor calibre MT5813 with a 70 hour power reserve.
Clair de Rose
2024 saw the addition of 6 new Clair de Rose models, all with signature ‘Tudor Blue’ dials. The new timepieces are available in 3 case sizes which are 26mm, 30mm and 34mm with the choice of Roman numerals or diamond dot detailing.
These new additions are powered by self-winding mechanical calibres T201 (26mm & 30mm models) and T601 (34mm model) and offer a 38 hour power reserve. The new models are elegant in design as we have come to expect of this beautiful collection. The case, bracelet and perfectly polished bezel are all crafted in stainless steel which strikes a wonderful contrast to the rich blue of the dial. The winding crown is adorned with the blue spinel cabochon as with Clair de Rose models before it.
The soft style of the bracelet with its ‘rice shaped’ 5 link design fits perfectly with the elegance of the Clair De Rose. The new blue dial options join the existing range that are of the same design but with opaline dials, once again with diamond or roman numeral options.
