Bench Watches
Bench are a British urban lifestyle brand which design and market a full range of clothing and accessories, including Bench watches. Bench watches are inspired by the same BMX biking and skate-boarding themes that their streetwear evidently demonstrates, making heavy use of stainless steel and retro dial designs and distressed leather straps. Bench watches feature strong Bench branding and cool and innovative fashion statements. Each Bench watch comes with a 2 year Bench guarantee.
Bench Watches
The Bench fashion brand began in 1989 in Manchester, and true to it's roots the Bench Head Office is still located in Ardwick Green in Manchester today. This British urban lifestyle brand originally designed clothing inspired by the BMX biking and skate-boarding scenes with a range of baggy pants and fashionable hooded jackets in ladies and gents styles. The north west style evident around Manchester is reflected in many Bench designs; the 'traditional' Manchester parka jacket designed by Bench was worn by Manchester born Oasis singer Liam Gallagher and Nicole Appleton. Another celebrity fan of the brand was Cameron Diaz. Logos and graphics with influences from all over the world adorn Bench clothing as well as prints of the expansive Manchester skyline. A 'stamp' style image of Buddha printed onto a backdrop of a Manchester block of flats is a fine example of a Bench marketing style that includes other Eastern symbolism in it's ads and clothing labels.
Bench sponsorships include events linked with fashionable sports and music such as 'Snowbombing', an annual week long snowboarding and music festival held in Mayrhofen, Austria, and The Warehouse Project, a music event in Manchester. Bench also worked with Robbie Williams on his Epson sponsored world tour. Another notable Bench production were the limited addition Oasis jackets made to mark the launch of Oasis' 2006 greatest hits album 'Stop The Clocks' and were worn by the band and crew whilst on tour.
Bench opened their first standalone store in Berlin in 2006, with the first UK store opening in 2007 in the Meadowhall Shopping Centre in Sheffield featuring strong urban themes including dressing rooms styled to replicate a tube station and artwork by London Police. Primal Scream bassist Gary Mounfield welcomed shoppers at the store's opening. In between other musical event sponsorships, Bench continued to open new UK stores in the prime shopping locations of Glasgow's Buchanan Street, the brand's home city of Manchester and the Bluewater Shopping Centre in Kent. Currently, Bench have many more standalone stores throughout the U.K. as well as numerous concessions in large department stores. The brand now extends globally across Europe, U.S.A., Canada and Australia. The 'CoolBrands' panel named Bench as the coolest streetwear brand of 2007/2008.
Over recent years, Bench have diversified by designing clothing accessories, jewellery, fragrances, footwear and watches. The line of Bench watches is one of the more popular products. The Bench spirit is just as distinct in these watches fashioned in bold stainless steel watch cases with retro dial designs and distressed leather watch straps. Bench use strong Bench branding on their watch dials and straps and create cool and contemporary fashion statements. Bench watches use toughened mineral glasses, thick leather straps and high quality quartz movements that come with a 2 year Bench guarantee.
